Effective January 31, Wear Ease was certified as a “woman-owned business” by WBENC ( Women’s Business Enterprise National Counci).  WBENC  is the most nationally recognized certification available to women and has a proven track record of opening new doors, shortening sales cycles and helping women-owned businesses learn how to navigate the procurement landscape more effectively. Wear Ease is a woman-owned business based in Boise, Idaho that designs, manufactures and distributes fine garments and accessories for women who are recovering from breast or chest surgery and who may be coping with side effects such as lymphedema and limited mobility.

According to Phyllis Keith, President and Owner of Wear Ease, the criteria for certification is very specific to ensure that the business is managed by a woman.  The business must be at least 51% owned by a woman and the applicant must share in all risk and profits commensurate with her ownership interest.  The woman owner shall have the ability to perform in her area of specialty or expertise without substantial reliance on males or non-woman-owned businesses.
